The Global Methodist Church of South Carolina supports New Church Starts.
The Global Methodist Church of South Carolina has become aware that many congregations seeking to align with our movement have been prevented from doing so. We understand that these decisions have created pain and distress for many Methodists across our state; however, we seek to offer hope to our brothers and sisters in Christ.
In our earliest days, the Methodist movement was a church-starting movement. Lay people who loved the Lord would organize Methodist churches in their own communities. As Methodists sought to be faithful to God in every area of their lives, God used them to become one of the most significant church movements in American history. God is rekindling those fires today.
If you are a church member who is committed to the historic Christian faith, believes in biblical Christianity, and seeks to live into the very best of a renewed Methodist movement, then we encourage you to prayerfully consider starting a new church in your community.
Over the last year, the GMC of SC has worked with groups of Methodists to establish new churches across the state. Each of our new churches is filled with vibrancy, hope, and they experience renewal in the Lord.
If you are interested in establishing a new church start in your community, then we offer the following next steps:
Pray: Spend time in prayer seeking God’s guidance, will, and blessing.
Organize: Quickly organize a small team of leaders and communicate with your community that God is doing something new. It is important for your community to know immediately that they can remain together as they serve the Lord.
Contact: Email us at NewChurch@GMCofSC.org. Our team of dedicated leaders will offer guidance, and we can connect you with local leaders to walk alongside your new church start.
Attend: We invite you and everyone in your group to attend one of our two upcoming meetings. We will host an in-person meeting on Sunday, November 10 th at 5:30 pm in sanctuary at Mt. Horeb Church, Lexington, SC. (1205 Old Cherokee Rd.,Lexington, SC 29072)
Remember: Remember: We must remember who God has called us to be. We are not a defeated, fearful, or timid people. Rather, we are more than conquerors through Christ Jesus who loves us and has called us according to His purpose.
The Global Methodist Church of South Carolina is committed to supporting anyone who seeks to be a part of our biblical and historic movement. You are welcome to pursue starting a new church or join one of our existing Global Methodist Churches. God is renewing Methodism, and we would love to partner with you.
