The Global Methodist Church of South Carolina is truly a Methodist movement. There is renewed excitement for Jesus Christ among our laity, new churches are being established, and men and women are standing up to answer a call to ministry. Methodism has always been at its best when it’s been a Spirit-inspired movement of the people. I am humbled and excited to be a part of what God is doing in the Global Methodist Church of South Carolina.
— Bishop Scott J. Jones, General Superintendent | Global Methodist Church
“…there is a fresh wind blowing causing life to spring from the chaotic waters.” | Why I Am Excited for the GMC of SC
— Rev. Gryff Carosiello, Pastor | Sharon Methodist Church | Greer, SC
Becoming part of the Global Methodist Church has been a breath of fresh air for our congregation. We have felt a heightened awareness of the power of the Holy Spirit moving and stirring hearts within our church family. We see a renewed movement of people who desire to worship God, grow deeper in His Word, and serve our community, through sharing the good news of Jesus with all. We have excitement in what God is doing through the Global Methodist Church of South Carolina.
— Rev. Laura Geloni, Executive Pastor | Covenant Church | Greer, SC
We are deeply grateful for the steadfast support of the GMC of South Carolina in our new church plant. The unwavering commitment to worship passionately, love extravagantly, and witness boldly, has been instrumental in our growth and success. The GMC’s generosity and encouragement has touched the hearts of our congregation, inspiring us to continue our mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ. We are honored to have the Global Methodist Church as brothers-in-Christ in spreading the message through prayer, service, and outreach.

“The GMC would help us find potential pastors. I would have to say that this was probably our main reason for immediately joining the GMC.” | Why Would Your Church Choose to Immediately Align with the GMC?
— Kay Lawhon, Lay Leader | Aldersgate Methodist Church | N. Charleston, SC
Joining the Global Methodist Church has brought new life into our church. We are still "the same" in that we are in line with 2000 years of orthodox Christian teaching and doctrinally we are very much Methodists, but there is a new spirit of hope, renewal, excitement and unity at Point Hope. We have less administrative meetings and more Bible Studies, Class Meetings, and Connection Groups.
— Rev. Elizabeth Sullivan, Pastor | Point Hope Church | Mt. Pleasant, SC
Until recent years, I considered the United Methodist Church my safe place. Sadly, I had developed a false sense of security and complacency. I praise God for waking me up from my slumber as the proverbial frog in the pot. When “my” church for 60-plus years voted to remain with the UMC, I knew that it was time for me to face one of the most difficult and painful decisions. Through His mercy, God gave me the courage to leave the church of my birth and find an amazing Global Methodist Church. From our first visit there, my husband and I were greeted with a feeling of belonging. The pulpit trusts in the inerrancy of the Scriptures. The Bible is recognized as the authoritative Word of God, and there is the belief that His Holy Spirit did the writing, no matter whose hand penned the message.
— Glenda Ward, Aldersgate Methodist Church | N. Charleston, SC
“…our church now has more control in making decisions to best carry out our missions. Our church will now pay fewer apportionments which will enable our church to fund local ministries, church planting and global missions. ” | How Has Our Church Changed Since Joining the GMC?
— Terry Blackwell | Lyman Methodist Church | Lyman, SC
